Yuma runs on a different calendar from the rest of Arizona. Winter is the busy season, when the population swells and the fields are in full production, and summer is when the heat dictates that anything outdoors happens before mid morning. We schedule Yuma accordingly, with early starts through the warm months and a much fuller book from November through March.
The city itself is compact and easy to work. Downtown along Main Street has the historic storefronts and the display glass that comes with them, the neighborhoods around Avenue B and 32nd Street are settled single story homes, and the newer growth on the east side runs to larger houses with more glass per wall. Seasonal parks and rental properties often want a turnover clean rather than a schedule, which is a different job and priced differently.
Amazing job. Very professional and our windows are perfectly clean. Thanks Squeegeezy!

Like peas in a pod...

Yuma is surrounded by working farmland on nearly every side, and that is the single biggest factor for glass here. Field preparation, harvest and the constant movement of equipment keep a fine agricultural dust in the air for much of the growing season, and it settles into a film that is heavier and greasier than plain desert dust.
Sun does the rest. With more direct sunlight hours than almost anywhere in the country, anything left on Yuma glass gets baked onto it fast, and what would wipe off elsewhere has to be softened first. Add irrigation water carrying Colorado River minerals onto low panes and the combination is why Yuma windows reward being done properly rather than quickly.
Winter, by a wide margin. The population swells from November through March, the fields are in full production and the book fills accordingly, so that is the stretch worth calling ahead for. Summer runs quieter and the work happens before mid morning because of the heat. If you want a particular week over the winter, a few weeks of notice makes a real difference to what we can actually offer you.
Because it is agricultural rather than plain desert dust. Field preparation, harvest and constant equipment movement keep fine soil in the air through much of the growing season, and that soil carries organic matter with it. On warm glass it settles into a film heavier than desert grit, and it smears the moment anyone takes a dry cloth to it. It needs lifting wet, along with the screens holding the rest of it.
Yes, though it takes softening rather than scrubbing. Yuma gets more direct sunlight hours than almost anywhere in the country, so whatever lands on a pane is baked onto it quickly, and what would wipe away in a milder climate has to be dissolved first. That is also why we work early through the warm months. Cool glass releases dirt. Hot glass holds it and dries the solution before it can do its job.
