Visalia is a valley town with a compact walkable core and agriculture on every side of it. Downtown along Main Street is brick and stucco storefront with large display windows, restaurant fronts and second floor office glass, all best handled before the sidewalks fill. The older residential streets just north and west of downtown hold real period housing, with tall double hung sash, transoms and porches that dictate exactly where a ladder can be placed.
Past that ring the city spreads into tract housing from the 1970s onward, single and two story homes with sliders onto a back patio and taller entry glass in the newer northern subdivisions. Packing houses, farm offices and dairy operations on the outskirts make up a distinct part of the commercial route. Because the grid is simple and distances are short, a full day usually stays inside two or three neighborhoods.
Amazing job. Very professional and our windows are perfectly clean. Thanks Squeegeezy!

Two seasons here bring two completely different problems. Summer is dust: dry field soil, harvest activity and truck traffic on the county roads leave a constant fine layer on everything, and hundred degree afternoons bake it onto the glass within hours of it landing.
Winter brings tule fog, which sits in the valley for days at a time and keeps every pane damp from dusk until well after sunrise. Dust that arrived in autumn gets wet, dries, gets wet again and eventually cements itself in place. That is why glass here often looks worse in January than it did in August. We soak rather than wipe, and clear the sills and tracks where the same soil waits to reload.
Tule fog. It settles into the valley for days at a stretch and keeps glass damp from dusk until well after sunrise. Dust that arrived during harvest gets wet, dries, gets wet again, and each cycle bonds it a little more firmly to the surface. By midwinter what was a light layer has become a cemented film. Soaking is the only thing that releases it cleanly, which is why a hose accomplishes nothing.
Yes, agricultural properties around the city are part of the regular commercial route. Farm offices, packing house glass, equipment bay windows and the houses on those same properties can usually be handled in one visit. Timing matters more than usual here, since harvest and processing schedules decide when a yard is clear enough to set up safely. Tell us what is running that week and we will pick a slot that works.
Regularly. The older streets around the center of town have tall double hung sash, transom glass above doors and deep porches, which changes both the pace and the setup. Those windows are cleaned by hand rather than fast, painted shut sash is left alone, and ladder positions are chosen so nothing rests on decorative trim. We tell you about failing glazing or a cracked pane before working near it.
