Bayshore Boulevard is where this part of the coast shows its hand. The houses along it and through Hyde Park face open water across a low seawall, take spray on a windy day and carry some of the oldest and most ornate glass in the region: bay windows, leaded transoms and tall sash across wide porches. Those are hand jobs with careful access planning, and the traffic on the boulevard means we set up early.
Elsewhere the work changes completely. Ybor City is brick buildings with cast iron balconies and street level glass, mostly restaurant and bar frontage cleaned before the district opens. Westshore is office towers and hotels arranged through building management. The residential neighborhoods spreading north through Seminole Heights and out toward Carrollwood are bungalows and postwar ranch homes under heavy oak. Water is closer than it looks from most of these neighborhoods. Homes near the bay pick up salt on any onshore breeze, and along the seawall on a rough day the spray is direct rather than airborne, which puts a far heavier deposit on the front elevation than the rest of the house ever sees. That side always finishes on a pure water rinse.
Away from the shoreline the pattern is oak and storms. Mature live oaks drop pollen and catkins in spring and host aphids that leave honeydew, and afternoon storms through summer streak dust down every pane. Ybor and the older commercial districts add road film from constant traffic, which needs detergent rather than a rinse. Frames and sills get done with the glass, because that is where the next film starts.

Street level glass in that district takes hand contact, kitchen exhaust film and road grime from constant traffic, none of which comes off with a rinse. We work early, well before the district opens, and finish entry doors and push plates in the same pass. Businesses on the same block often share a visit, which is cheaper for each of them.

Timing is set so lobbies and entrances are clear before staff arrive. Buildings within reach of the bay carry more salt at height than at street level, so upper floors often need attention sooner than the ground floor suggests.
