Shreveport sits far enough north that it does not behave like the rest of the state. Winter here brings genuine freezes, and exterior glass work stops for them. Behind it sits the familiar humid climate mildew in shaded frame corners, plus Red River fog that leaves a damp haze on glass most mornings from fall into spring. Winter freezes work on old glazing putty in the historic districts, so we look over the putty lines while cleaning and mention anything that has pulled away from the glass.

We soften each spot first, lift it with a soft blade held at a shallow angle, then wash and rinse the whole pane so nothing is left behind in a ring. If a panel is bowing or a lead line has separated, we stop and tell you rather than risk making a repair job larger.
For a handful of weeks, yes. Unlike south Louisiana, this part of the state sees hard freezes, and water on glass at those temperatures turns to ice before a squeegee can clear it. We move exterior work when a freeze is in the forecast and use those days for interior cleaning instead. Most winters only cost a few working days, and the schedule usually reopens by late February when pollen season begins.
