Santa Maria is a working agricultural city and the fields come right up to the edge of the neighborhoods. Broadway runs the length of town as the commercial spine, lined with storefronts, restaurants and service businesses that mostly need single story exterior and interior glass done before opening. Residential streets on the north and east sides are tract housing from the 1960s through the 1990s, single story with aluminum or vinyl sliders and a modest window count per house.
Orcutt to the south feels older and more compact, with a small historic core and homes tucked among oaks on narrower streets. Out toward the vineyards and ranch properties west of town, lots are large, driveways run long and the buildings include tasting rooms and packing operations alongside houses. Agricultural jobs get planned around field work and crew shifts, since a farm road at change of shift is no place to set up a ladder.
Amazing job. Very professional and our windows are perfectly clean. Thanks Squeegeezy!

Like peas in a pod...

Two things arrive here that most coastal cities never deal with. Field dust rides the afternoon wind in off the surrounding valley, heaviest during ground preparation and harvest, and it carries the fine worked soil that comes with year round planting. Produce truck traffic on the arterial streets adds a layer of road grit on top of that.
Then there is the fog, which settles over the valley many mornings and keeps everything damp long enough for the dust to bond instead of blowing off. The result is a stubborn light brown film that has to be soaked rather than wiped. We flood, let it release, squeegee, and clear the sills and tracks where the same soil sits waiting to reload the glass.
Because the dust never gets a chance to blow off again. Field soil drifts in on the afternoon wind, then the morning fog wets it down and it dries onto the pane in a thin bonded layer. Repeat that daily through a growing season and you get a brown haze that a hose does nothing about. It has to be soaked so the layer releases, then squeegeed off in a single pass.
Yes, and agricultural properties are a normal part of the route out west of town. Tasting rooms, farm offices, packing buildings and ranch houses all get covered, though scheduling matters more than usual. Field work and crew shifts dictate when a driveway or yard is clear enough to set up safely. Tell us what is happening on the property that week and we will pick a window that keeps everyone out of each other's way.
Homes and businesses near open fields usually want three or four visits a year, timed so one falls after ground preparation in spring and another after the main harvest push. Properties further into the residential core can often manage twice a year comfortably. Storefronts on the busiest streets are their own case, since road grit builds regardless of season. We will suggest a rhythm based on where you actually sit.
