The Avenues will test any window cleaner. Those blocks north of downtown climb the bench on a steep numbered and lettered grid, with narrow lots, Victorian and early 1900s homes, tall narrow sash and back yards that drop away sharply behind the house. Setting a ladder there is a genuine exercise in judgment. Move down into Sugar House and the 9th and 9th area and the housing eases into bungalows and cottages on flatter ground, which is a different job entirely.
Downtown and the corridor along State Street give us the commercial half of the week: restaurant fronts, ground floor retail, office lobbies and glass entries that need frequent short visits rather than seasonal cleans. We work those early, before the sidewalks fill. Because the city rises so noticeably from west to east, we route uphill neighborhoods together, since a crew that keeps crossing that grade loses more of the day to driving than to cleaning.
Amazing job. Very professional and our windows are perfectly clean. Thanks Squeegeezy!

Winter inversion is the honest answer to why glass gets dirty here. When cold air settles into the valley and stalls, particulate has nowhere to go and simply hangs for days or weeks at a time. It settles on everything, and the film it leaves is fine, even and greasy rather than gritty, which means water alone tends to push it around instead of lifting it.
That film needs proper solution and a clean finish, not a quick rinse. On top of it, the municipal supply here is on the hard end, so sprinkler overspray leaves mineral spotting on ground floor glass through summer. Most homes end up wanting a clean once the inversion season breaks in spring and another in early autumn.
That is inversion residue. When cold air stalls in the valley, particulate stays suspended for days at a time and settles as a fine oily film rather than as loose dust. Plain water slides over it and leaves streaks, which is why so many people think their windows simply cannot get clean. It needs proper solution to break the film, then a clean squeegee finish. Most homes here book a clean right after inversion season ends.
Usually yes, but access decides the method. Those blocks are narrow, the grade is real, and back yards often drop away behind the house, which rules out a standard ladder set on the rear elevation. We use levelers and stabilizers where the ground allows and switch to water fed pole work where it does not. We look at the property before quoting rather than discovering the problem on the day of the appointment.
We do, and most of those clients run short rotations. Restaurant fronts, ground floor retail and office entries pick up handprints and street film quickly, so weekly or biweekly visits keep them presentable in a way a twice yearly clean never could. We work before opening so nobody is stepping around a bucket. Interior lobby glass and door pushes are normally part of the same visit.
