The Llano Estacado is genuinely flat, and Lubbock sits in the middle of it with cotton on every side. That geography, plus a street grid with few mature trees, means almost every property we visit is fully exposed. There is rarely a sheltered elevation to fall back on, so we plan around wind direction rather than around shade, and we work fast once solution goes onto the glass.
Housing runs from 1950s brick near the older central neighborhoods to newer construction in the southwest sections beyond Loop 289. Around Texas Tech, converted houses and small apartment blocks turn over every August without fail. Downtown and along the Avenue Q corridor there is commercial frontage sitting on wide, busy streets that throw road film onto it constantly. Because the city is compact and the grid stays regular, routing a crew here takes less planning than in almost any comparable Texas city.

Two seasons dominate the calendar. In spring, dust storms roll off open farmland and coat every surface in a matter of hours, driving fine soil deep into tracks and screen mesh. Then in late fall, cotton harvest fills the air with lint and gin trash that catches in frame corners and sticks to anything damp.
The water is the constant. Lubbock supply is very hard, so irrigation spotting builds fast on lower panes and bonds quickly in dry heat. Our routine is to flush the surface with plenty of water before anything touches it, wash, then treat mineral deposits with a dedicated remover. Screens come out and get washed separately, because lint and dust in the mesh will reload a clean pane.
Spring is unpredictable, so most customers clean once the worst of it has passed rather than during. A single storm can undo a job in an afternoon. If you need glass presentable through that stretch, we can run a shorter exterior only cycle and save the full interior and exterior service for later. Either way, do not dry wipe dusty glass yourself, since that fine grit scratches easily.

That combination leaves calcium on the pane within minutes rather than hours, so spotting stacks up faster than in more humid parts of the state. Redirecting sprinkler heads away from the glass is the real fix. For deposits already there, we use a dedicated remover and test a corner first.
