It lands as a dark, slightly oily film, heaviest on the west and south sides of town, and it streaks badly if anyone rinses it down without a detergent first.
Salt arrives on top of that from the open water and the canals, so the film is part oil and part mineral, which is why a single product rarely finishes a pane evenly. Homes on the canals also sit in constant damp that keeps the layer soft and reloading. We degrease first, handle the mineral component second, and watch the aluminum frames near the water closely.
