Hill Air Force Base gives Layton a rhythm that most cities do not have. Families arrive and leave on assignment, which means a steady flow of move in and move out cleans, often on short notice and often needing interiors, tracks and screens rather than just an exterior wash. We keep room in the schedule for those, because a relocation date rarely moves to suit a window cleaner.
The rest of the city divides between older streets near the original town center, where homes date back further than most people assume, and the wide newer subdivisions spreading east toward the mountains and west toward the flats. Homes climbing toward the foothills sit on steeper ground with larger view glass facing the valley, while the commercial run along the main retail corridor is mostly straightforward single story storefront work that we handle before the shops open. Neighbors on the newer streets often book together, which shortens the route for everyone on it.
Amazing job. Very professional and our windows are perfectly clean. Thanks Squeegeezy!

The east wind events are what people here remember. When strong downslope winds pour out of the canyons onto Davis County, they arrive with real force, stripping roof granules, lifting gravel from landscaping and driving all of it against east facing walls and windows. A single night of that can leave glass looking sandblasted, and it sometimes leaves genuine pitting on the most exposed panes.
After one of those events, glass has to be flooded and the debris floated off before anything touches it, since dragging roof granules across a pane will scratch it. The rest of the year the issues are ordinary for the area: mineral heavy water leaving sprinkler spots and winter grit working into the channels.
We do, and it is a regular part of our week here. Relocations tend to come with fixed dates and short notice, so we hold capacity for them rather than booking every slot months ahead. Those visits normally cover interiors, tracks, sills and screens as well as exterior glass, since that is what a walk through actually looks at. Tell us the handover date when you call and we will work backward from it.
Do not wipe the glass. Those winds strip roof granules and lift landscaping gravel, and that material ends up sitting on the pane. Running a cloth over it drags hard particles across the surface, which is exactly how scratches happen. Rinse it with a hose if you want to act immediately, or leave it for us. We flood the glass and float the debris off before anything makes contact, then check the most exposed panes for pitting.
Yes. Homes on the higher ground east of the city were often built to take in the valley, which means larger fixed panes on the west elevation and steeper ground beneath them. We check footing before quoting, use levelers and standoffs where the grade allows, and use water fed poles where a ladder cannot be set safely. Those elevations also catch the wind hardest, so they tend to need attention more often.
