Largo carries more manufactured housing than most Florida cities its size, and that shapes a real share of our week. The communities off Ulmerton Road and along Seminole Boulevard are rows of single and double wide homes with small awning windows, aluminum carports and screened Florida rooms added on later. The windows are little, there are plenty of them, and the frames matter as much as the glass. We price those by the unit rather than by the square foot, and whole communities often book together on one morning.
The rest of the city works differently. Neighborhoods near Largo Central Park and out toward Indian Rocks Road are 1960s and 70s block ranch homes on regular lots. Ulmerton Road itself is a light industrial and office corridor, warehouses, showrooms and glass fronted business units, and most of that gets cleaned before the workday starts.
Amazing job. Very professional and our windows are perfectly clean. Thanks Squeegeezy!

Like peas in a pod...

Largo sits mid peninsula with water on both sides, so salt reaches it from the Gulf and from the bay even though neither is at the end of the street. It is light, it never stops, and it settles as a haze rather than as visible dirt. Reclaimed water for irrigation is widespread across the county too, and wherever a sprinkler reaches a low window it leaves a hard mineral band.
Traffic supplies the third layer. Ulmerton Road carries heavy traffic all day, and businesses fronting it pick up road film and exhaust grime a residential street never sees. That needs detergent and a real wash rather than a rinse. Home work leans on flooding and a clean rinse, with frames and awning slats done by hand.
Yes, and a great deal of our Largo work is exactly that. Those homes have many small awning windows rather than a few large panes, plus aluminum frames, screen inserts and often a Florida room added on. We price by the unit rather than by area, since counting square feet gives a misleading number on that kind of window. Frames and crank hardware get cleaned with the glass, because on these homes the frame is most of what you see.
Yes, and it is usually the cheapest way for everyone involved. We set a date with the community manager or a resident organizer, work a run of homes in one visit and bill each household separately. Nobody needs to be home for exterior work. Communities off Ulmerton Road and along Seminole Boulevard often do this once or twice a year, and neighbors who sign on to the same day pay less than they would individually.
Traffic volume. A busy road throws up a mix of exhaust residue, tire dust and road grit that settles into a greasy film on any glass facing it, and that film is not the same as ordinary dust. Rinsing does not shift it. It needs detergent and a full wash. Showrooms and offices fronting that corridor typically need a shorter interval than a business tucked away on a side street a block behind.
