Indio runs on a seasonal calendar and window work follows it. From late fall through spring the city fills up, seasonal residents open houses that sat closed all summer, and the first visit usually means clearing months of blown sand off glass nobody has touched since May. The gated communities on the north and east sides account for a large share of that work, most of it single story with wide sliders onto a patio.
Highway 111 and Jackson Street carry the commercial glass: storefronts, hotels and restaurant patios that fill during event weekends and want everything spotless in advance. Newer subdivisions bring two story elevations with tall entry windows above the door. Date palm groves still edge parts of the city, and properties beside them deal with debris that the rest of town never sees.

Two forces dominate here. Blowing sand is abrasive and relentless, driven in off open desert and packed into frame tracks, screen mesh and the corner of every sill. Wiping a sanded pane dry is the quickest way to scratch it permanently, so we flood the glass first and let the grit float off before anything solid touches the surface.
The second is the water, which carries a heavy mineral load. Sprinkler overspray and patio misters leave spots that harden fast in desert heat, and glass that has been spotted for years is often etched rather than simply coated. We test an area, treat the deposits directly, and tell you plainly which marks will lift and which are in the glass to stay.
Water first, always. Desert sand is sharp, and any cloth or rubber dragged across a dry sanded pane grinds those particles into the surface. We flood the glass, let the sand release and run off, then wash and squeegee clean. Tracks, weep holes and screen mesh get cleared in the same visit, because sand left in a track simply washes back onto the glass with the first irrigation cycle or rain.
Season opening cleans are one of our busiest bookings here. A house closed from May through October collects several months of blown sand on every exterior pane, plus dust on the interior sides if the place has been shut up. We can meet a property manager or caretaker if you are still out of state, work from a key or code you arrange, and send photos when the visit is finished so you know what you are coming home to.
Often, and sometimes not, which is worth knowing before you pay for it. Recent sprinkler and mister spotting responds well to a mineral treatment. Deposits that have baked on for years in desert heat can etch into the glass, and at that point no product restores the surface. We test a small section, show you the difference, and give you a clear answer instead of billing for repeated attempts on glass that is already damaged.
