Fountain Hills is built on slopes, and that is the first thing any window cleaner notices. Houses step up the hillsides toward the McDowells with the living space and the big glass oriented at the view, which means the most important windows on the property are also the ones furthest off the ground. Ladders are frequently the wrong tool here and poles are the right one.
The town is small enough to work as a single unit, which we like. Fountain Park sits at the center, the commercial strip along Saguaro and Palisades handles the storefront work, and the residential streets fan out and up from there. Being a dark sky community, evening light matters to people, and a lot of customers specifically want the west facing glass done because that is the side they sit and watch the sunset through.
Amazing job. Very professional and our windows are perfectly clean. Thanks Squeegeezy!

Like peas in a pod...

The fountain itself is a genuine factor. When the plume is running and the wind is up, it carries a fine mist across the surrounding blocks, and that water dries and leaves mineral deposits on whatever it lands on. Properties within a few streets of the park see spotting that homes further up the hill simply do not get.
Away from the park it is the usual desert combination made worse by elevation. Wind coming off the McDowells carries decomposed granite, and the hillside lots catch it on the exposed side. On tall fixed panes that grit needs floating off wet, never wiped, because a dry pass across angular dust on a large expensive window is how you end up replacing it.
Usually with water fed poles rather than ladders. Most homes here step up the slope, so the ground beside the tall glass is sloped, terraced or hardscaped, and none of that is safe to lean against. Poles let a crew work from stable footing and still reach the second story runs facing the view. We look at the setup and decide where each section gets worked from before anything is carried around the house.
Yes, and it is a common request. West facing panes take the low sun straight on, which is when every spot shows and also when most residents are sitting and watching the sunset through them. If the budget only stretches so far, doing the view side properly makes more sense than doing everything quickly. Tell us which rooms matter and we will price those rather than the whole house.
It can. When the fountain is running and the wind is behind it, the plume carries a fine mist across the surrounding blocks, and that water dries into mineral spotting on whatever it lands on. For properties within a few streets of the park we try to work while the air is still, which usually means early. Further up the hillsides it is not a factor, so it only changes the plan close to the water.
