McGregor Boulevard is the spine of old Fort Myers, and it tells you what kind of job you are walking into. The houses along it and on the streets dropping toward the Caloosahatchee are older, wood and stucco, with tall casement windows, deep eaves and royal palms lining the road. Those properties need hand work and a plan for reaching second floor glass past mature planting. Downtown in the River District the job turns to storefronts and restaurant glass in restored brick buildings, done early before First Street fills up.
The rest of the city is newer and quicker. South and east toward Daniels Parkway and Gateway the subdivisions are stucco two story homes with sliders and a screened lanai, and they route fast. We keep the river side and the eastern suburbs on separate days, because the older properties take time that a modern subdivision simply does not.

Glass on the shaded northern side of a Fort Myers house grows a green algae film with mildew in the frame corners, and it comes back faster than ordinary dirt does. That is not a cleaning failure, it is biology, and the answer is treating the frame and sill instead of scrubbing the pane harder.
Trees supply the rest. Royal palms shed a fine fibrous debris and a sticky flower drop in season, and all of it lands on whatever sits below. Homes closer to the river and out toward the coast also pick up salt on a west wind, so those finish on pure water. Lanai screens get done at the same visit so the mesh is not simply rinsing its own mess back down.
