Daytona Beach runs on an event calendar and so does our schedule. Speedweeks in February and the motorcycle weeks that follow fill every hotel, restaurant and shopfront along Atlantic Avenue and International Speedway Boulevard, and those businesses want their glass done in the days before, not during. We block that stretch out well ahead, because trying to work a route through that traffic helps nobody.
Outside the events the city divides at the Halifax River. Beachside along A1A is condo buildings, motels and rental units where access runs through a manager and the balcony layout decides the method. On the mainland, Beach Street downtown and the older streets off Ridgewood Avenue hold low brick storefronts and 1920s houses with wood sash. Ormond Beach sits at the north end and usually shares a route with the beachside work.

The sand on this beach is packed hard enough to drive on, which means it is fine, and both wind and traffic keep it moving. That fine sand lands on glass, and mixed with Atlantic salt it becomes a gritty film. Wipe a pane dry in that condition and you polish scratches into the surface rather than cleaning it.
So the method is flood, lift and rinse, with a pure water finish on anything beachside so no residue is left for salt to catch on. Rental and hotel glass includes the sliding door channel, because sand piles up there faster than anywhere else on a building. Summer storms add rain spotting on top of all of it.
Yes, and earlier is better. The weeks around Speedweeks and the motorcycle events fill the whole beachside and the Speedway corridor, so we reserve the days ahead of each one for commercial work and clean shopfronts, restaurants and hotel entries before the crowds arrive. Trying to run a route during those weeks is not realistic for anyone. Call us a month out and we will place you in the run before the event rather than after it.
Yes. Buildings along A1A make up a big share of our local work, from small motels to residential towers. Access is arranged through the manager or the association, and the building layout decides the method, since balcony access and reach limits differ from one property to the next. Because oceanfront glass takes salt daily, most buildings we serve here settle on a set interval rather than calling when it looks bad.
Because the sand here is fine and it never really settles. Wind moves it off the beach constantly and it finds the lowest horizontal surface on your building, which is the door channel. Left there it grinds against the roller and the bottom edge of the glass every time the door slides. We clean the track as part of the job rather than as an extra, since a clean pane sitting above a loaded track will look dirty again within days.
