Lake Conroe changes what a window job looks like on this side of Montgomery County. Homes in April Sound, Water Crest and the streets off Highway 105 West are built to face the water, which usually means a rear wall that is mostly glass, sliding doors onto a deck and a second story with nothing between it and the lake. Those elevations look spectacular and they collect everything the water throws at them.
Away from the shoreline the work is more conventional. Downtown around the courthouse square there are older brick buildings, professional offices and the Crighton Theatre block, with painted trim and traditional storefront glass. Neighborhoods along the Interstate 45 corridor run to standard brick two stories. We generally handle lake properties in the morning while the surface is calm, then move inland once boat traffic and afternoon chop pick up and the light on the water gets harsh.

Morning fog off the lake is the local signature. Warm water under cooler air produces mist that settles across every lakefacing pane, and as it dries it leaves behind whatever the air was carrying, which in the Piney Woods means pollen, fine organic dust and insect residue.
Boat lifts, jet skis and wake traffic add a second layer, throwing lake water directly onto lower glass and deck rails where minerals dry into visible spotting. We wash lakeside elevations early, before the day heats up and the solution flashes dry, and treat the mineral spotting separately from ordinary soil. Deck rail glass gets the same attention as the windows, since a hazy rail spoils the view just as effectively.
Regularly. Lake facing elevations are usually the biggest glass on the property and the fastest to haze over, so most waterfront customers book those separately and more often than the rest of the house. We schedule them early in the day while the water is calm and the sun is low, which stops cleaning solution from drying on the pane before it can be pulled off cleanly. Deck rail glass is included.
Two things cause that. Overnight fog off the lake condenses on the glass and dries carrying whatever dust and pollen the air held. Separately, boat traffic and lift operation throw lake water onto lower panes, and lake water carries minerals that leave a visible ring as it evaporates. Neither wipes away with a dry cloth. Both need washing, and the mineral spotting responds to a dedicated remover rather than soap.
Yes. The older buildings downtown have traditional storefront glass, painted wood trim and in some cases transoms above the entrance, so they get more careful edge work than a modern strip center. We usually schedule those visits early, before foot traffic builds and parking around the square fills up. Monthly service suits most offices and shops there, with restaurants and anything with heavy door use going more frequently.
