There is a geological line running through Austin, and our crews feel it every day. West of it, in Westlake adjacent streets, Barton Creek and the hills above Bee Cave Road, houses are cut into slope with retaining walls, stepped decks and enormous view facing glass that no ladder will safely reach. East of that line the ground flattens out, and neighborhoods around Mueller, Cherrywood and East Austin run to bungalows, small additions and straightforward double hungs.
Downtown and along the South Congress corridor, we handle ground floor retail, restaurant frontage and office suites, most of it before opening. Traffic decides a lot: crossing town at the wrong hour costs more time than the job itself, so we build routes that stay on one side of the river. On hillside properties we look at the grade and the deck levels before quoting, rather than guessing at access from a street view image.
Amazing job. Very professional and our windows are perfectly clean. Thanks Squeegeezy!

Like peas in a pod...

Spring oak pollen is the thing Austin homeowners notice most. For several weeks it falls as a fine yellow green dust that settles on every surface and turns tacky in the humidity, so a hose rinse smears it rather than removing it. Catkins collect in tracks and along sills at the same time.
The rest of the year, hillside properties deal with limestone dust off unpaved shoulders and cut slopes, while flatter neighborhoods pick up road film from heavy traffic. City water here is hard enough that sprinkler overspray leaves visible spotting. We clear tracks dry first, wash rather than rinse during pollen weeks, and treat mineral deposits with a remover instead of trying to scrub them off.
Pollen season is short but intense, and rinsing with a hose during it usually makes things look worse. The particles are sticky in humid air, so water spreads them into streaks. A proper wash with solution lifts the film cleanly. Most customers book once the heaviest fall has passed, usually mid to late spring. If you need clear glass throughout, plan a shorter interval and expect the exterior to load up between visits.
Usually, though it depends on the grade. Houses cut into slope often have their largest glass on the downhill side, where the drop below makes conventional ladder work unsafe. Depending on the property we use water fed poles from a stable position, work from a deck level above, or bring rope access where the building supports it. We look at the site before quoting so the price reflects the real approach.
Yes. Street level frontage along the busier corridors picks up hand contact, road film and menu board smudges faster than anything residential, so most of those accounts run weekly or biweekly. We schedule before opening or late in the evening, and we work around sidewalk seating and delivery windows. Entry doors and low glass get attention each visit, with frames and higher panes on a longer rotation.
