West Central Texas red dirt is fine, dry and always airborne. With sparse ground cover and steady wind, it reaches glass constantly rather than seasonally, and it packs into frame corners and screen mesh where a casual rinse never reaches it.
Spring brings the harder problem. Storm season here produces hail often enough that screens get torn and frames dented, and hail driven grit gets forced into tracks and weep holes. We flush glass thoroughly before touching it, since dry dirt this fine will scratch under a cloth. Screens come out and get washed separately, and we flag any damage we find rather than reinstalling a torn screen and saying nothing.
Only in the worst conditions. Steady wind in dry air makes cleaning solution evaporate before a squeegee can clear it, which is how streaks happen. We manage that by starting on the sheltered side of the building, working in smaller sections and adjusting the solution. When gusts get strong enough to make pole work unsafe, we switch to interior glass or reschedule rather than deliver a poor result.
