We take the exposed elevations early before the afternoon wind builds, pull and rinse screens instead of cleaning around them, and clear the frame channels where seed and grit pack tight enough to hold water against the pane.

The west and south elevations catch the wind first, so those get cleaned in the morning before the afternoon picks up and reloads them with grass seed and hillside soil. We remove screens, rinse them, clear the channels, then put each one back in the opening it came from. Any mesh that is torn or brittle gets flagged rather than pushed back into place.
